Kenya.- The African Lotteries and Gaming Association (ALGA) has formally confirmed four senior leadership appointments<\/strong> within its Women in Gaming and Lotteries Africa<\/strong> (WIGLA) initiative, marking the next phase of the platform\u2019s expansion across Africa\u2019s gaming and lotteries sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ALGA said the appointments represent \u201cmore than a structural milestone\u201d, describing them as a deliberate step toward strengthening the presence, influence and leadership of women within the industry across Africa and globally<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In early April ALGA officially unveiled WIGLA as part of a broader effort to improve female leadership<\/a>, mentorship and visibility across Africa\u2019s regulated gaming and lottery sector. The platform was positioned around the theme of moving \u201cfrom inclusion to influence\u201d with a focus on creating stronger leadership pathways and long-term representation for women across the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The association confirmed the appointment of Annalisa Samuels as Chief Executive Officer, Shirley Tallam as Group Secretariat, Lucy Mwendwa as Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Investment, and Judith Kgoroba as Head of Events and Stakeholder Relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leadership, impact and inclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ALGA said the new leadership team would help shape WIGLA\u2019s operations, strengthen stakeholder engagement <\/strong>and expand its long-term impact across the continent. The organisation said: \u201cThese appointments mark more than a structural milestone; they represent a deliberate and strategic step <\/strong>toward strengthening the presence, influence and leadership of women within the gaming and lotteries sector across Africa and globally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The appointments reflect WIGLA\u2019s pan-African reach, with leadership representation linked to countries including Kenya, South Africa and Botswana, reinforcing ALGA\u2019s goal of strengthening women\u2019s leadership across Africa\u2019s gaming and lotteries sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ALGA added: \u201cWe are intentional about \u2018mothering\u2019 the continent – championing initiatives that nurture, empower, and create sustainable opportunities<\/strong> for growth, particularly for the youth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
