Kenya.- Betting operator SportPesa <\/strong>has reaffirmed its commitment to raising football standards through its partnership with the Football Kenya Federation<\/strong> (FKF), with a renewed 2026 focus on commercial growth, broadcast expansion and infrastructure development across the country\u2019s top football league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its 2026 efforts to strengthen Kenyan football, SportPesa is working with clubs, broadcasters, media partners and football officials to elevate the rebranded SportPesa League to world-class standards <\/strong>and improve long-term sustainability across all levels of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership also aims to support growth across all levels of Kenyan football, from elite professional clubs to grassroots development<\/strong>. The betting operator said: \u201cSportPesa has reaffirmed its commitment to working with key football stakeholders to elevate the SportPesa League to world-class standards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A recent stakeholder dialogue brought together clubs, FKF, broadcast partners, media, match officials and safety officers to align on a shared roadmap<\/strong> for the league\u2019s future. Discussions centred on benchmarking the league against continental standards, expanding broadcast reach, driving commercialisation and marketing, strengthening fan engagement, improving safety and security and accelerating infrastructure upgrades <\/strong>to improve the overall matchday experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SportPesa said the league\u2019s first season has already shown strong competitiveness <\/strong>and improved league visibility, while stakeholders agreed further work is needed to strengthen operations, presentation and the overall matchday experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership follows the landmark ten-year sponsorship<\/strong> agreement announced in August 2025, valued at Sh1.12bn (\u20ac7.4m) and launched with the 2025\/26 season to improve the structure, competitiveness and financial resilience of Kenyan football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the deal, 60 per cent of sponsorship funding is allocated directly to participating clubs as grants to support player development, infrastructure and professional standards<\/strong>, while the remaining 40 per cent supports league administration and operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company added: \u201cThe long-term partnership <\/strong>is designed to maximise the league\u2019s competitiveness and financial resilience.”<\/p>\n\n\n
