Senegal.- Lottery operators, regulators and gaming industry stakeholders convened in Dakar<\/strong> on Thursday, April 23<\/strong>, for a seminar focused on innovation and development within Africa\u2019s lottery sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was part of the general assembly of the African Lotteries Association, held from April 21 to 27, 2026<\/strong>, at the Noom Hotel Dakar Sea Plaza<\/strong>. The seminar focused on the theme \u201cDevelopment and Innovation\u201d and brought together delegates from across the continent to discuss operational challenges, technology adoption and the future of regulated lottery markets in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senegal\u2019s Minister of Finance and Budget, Cheikh Diba<\/strong>, was also in attendance, reflecting the government\u2019s interest in the role of lotteries and gaming revenues within broader economic policy discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to organisers, the meeting focused on how African lottery operators can adapt to changes in consumer behaviour, digital gaming trends and regulatory requirements. Discussions also covered cooperation between operators, responsible management practices and the use of technology to improve oversight and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The African Lotteries Association serves as a continental body for lottery operators and industry stakeholders. The organisation promotes collaboration among members and regularly hosts seminars and training sessions on governance, compliance and sector development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
