Botswana.- The Botswana Gambling Authority has completed a two-day responsible gambling outreach campaign in Maun, aimed at increasing public awareness of gambling harm and support services for players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulator held mobile clinic sessions at Mall of Maun <\/strong>on April 23 and at New Mall<\/strong> on April 24, where officials engaged members of the public on gambling-related risks, responsible play and available support channels for people experiencing gambling-related problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outreach focused on educating players about informed decision-making, setting gambling limits and recognising signs of harmful gambling behaviour. Residents were also briefed on the available counselling and self-help services under the regulator\u2019s responsible gambling programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative forms part of the Authority\u2019s broader responsible gambling strategy under Botswana\u2019s Gambling Act <\/strong>framework, which requires the regulator to oversee gambling activities while promoting safer gambling practices and reducing gambling-related harm. The Authority says responsible gambling remains a core part of its regulatory mandate alongside licensing and compliance enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outreach follows the Authority\u2019s participation in the HATAB<\/a> Annual National Conference at Maun Lodge<\/strong>, where CEO Moruntshi Kemorwale <\/strong>stressed that transparency and strong regulation in the gambling industry are key drivers of economic growth and investor confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n
