The audit began on April 20 at the operator\u2019s headquarters in Marcory and forms a key step ahead of LONACI\u2019s formal certification application<\/strong> planned for June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ISO 27001 is the internationally recognised standard for information security management systems and is widely adopted by major lottery and gaming operators to improve the protection of sensitive player data<\/strong>, strengthen operational resilience and support stronger compliance standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The process was officially launched under the supervision of Deputy Director General Abdoulkarim Ouattara, who said the initiative reflects a broader long-term strategy led by Director General Dramane Coulibaly to modernise the institution and align it with international best practices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LONACI said: \u201cThis approach is part of the vision of the General Manager, Dramane Coulibaly, who has already led LONACI to obtaining the ISO 9001 version 2015 and \u2018Responsible Game\u2019 level 3 certifications.\u201d The operator also highlighted the increasing importance of digital systems across the institution\u2019s activities, underlining why stronger information security standards are becoming increasingly important for lottery operators managing customer data and digital transactions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These previous certifications position the ISO 27001 process as part of LONACI\u2019s wider compliance <\/strong>and governance roadmap rather than a standalone initiative, reflecting a longer-term focus on operational standards, responsible gaming and institutional trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Director of Information Systems G\u00e9rard Coulibaly described the audit as a critical preparation phase before the June certification submission, with the review expected to identify operational improvements <\/strong>needed to meet international standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The audit is being conducted with the support of consulting firm Innovatech Consulting, whose chief auditor Mustapha Jemaa highlighted management commitment and internal team mobilisation as essential factors for certification success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For African lottery operators, ISO 27001 certification is becoming increasingly significant as digital participation, mobile payments and online gaming channels continue to expand.
