South Africa.- Sun International <\/strong>has appointed industry veteran Johan Oosthuizen<\/strong> as the new general manager of Carnival City <\/strong>in Boksburg, Gauteng, giving him full operational responsibility for the casino and entertainment complex. The role covers gaming, finance, IT, human resources, marketing, maintenance, security, sustainability and customer experience, as the property looks to maintain service standards and operational efficiency<\/p>\n\n\n

Oosthuizen brings more than 20 years of experience in the gaming and hospitality sectors. His background spans finance, risk management and executive leadership roles within Sun International\u2019s portfolio. Prior to this appointment, he served as interim regional general manager, overseeing multiple casino properties including Windmill, Wild Coast Sun and Boardwalk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His career within the group dates back to 2007<\/strong>, when he joined as an assistant financial manager. He later moved into senior finance roles before being appointed general manager at Windmill Casino, where he managed operations during the COVID-19 period and the subsequent recovery phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carnival City operates as an entertainment and gaming hub, featuring a casino, hotel, multiple restaurants, live DJ shows and concerts. As general manager, Oosthuizen is tasked with improving operational efficiency across departments while maintaining high service and compliance standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oosthuizen stated that his focus will be on improving service delivery and maintaining performance standards across the property, with an emphasis on accountability and measurable outcomes. He said: \u201cI am commercially astute and focus robustly on providing solutions that make a visible difference to the business. Staff are held accountable for high standards while fostering an environment of integrity, fairness and performance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
