Mauritius.- The Gambling Regulatory Authority <\/strong>(GRA) of Mauritius has launched a formal consultation exercise on its Rules of Racing, marking a regulatory review of the framework governing the country\u2019s horse racing sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a communiqu\u00e9 published on April 13 2026, the consultation forms part of a review of racing regulations, integrity rules and operational procedures under the Authority\u2019s oversight of the sport. The Rules of Racing define the regulatory framework<\/strong> for the organisation, supervision and administration of horse racing activities in Mauritius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GRA is the statutory body responsible for regulating and supervising gambling activities in Mauritius, including betting, gaming operations and horse racing<\/strong>. Its mandate includes ensuring compliance with gambling laws, maintaining integrity standards across regulated sectors and overseeing licensing and enforcement within the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horse racing in Mauritius is organised through a structured annual racing calendar at the Champ de Mars Racecourse in Port Louis, with race meetings <\/strong>scheduled throughout the year rather than a single fixed seasonal window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2026 horse racing season officially begins on April 25 2026, with a total of 27 race meetings scheduled through to December 2026 as part of the official fixture<\/strong> programme. Further updates are expected following the conclusion of the consultation process.<\/p>\n\n\n
