The regulator highlighted the potential of Botswana\u2019s racing sector at the Ma-Sa Horse Racing event, where officials said the sport could support tourism and rural economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Botswana.- The Botswana Gambling Authority <\/strong>has highlighted the growing potential of the country’s horse racing sector after participating in the Easter Ma-Sa Horse Racing event, which it described as a premier showcase of local talent, sportsmanship and the potential of the racing industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event held on April 4 was attended by Jacob Kelebeng, Botswana\u2019s Minister of Sport and Arts<\/strong>, who commended organisers for their efforts to professionalise the sport and strengthen the racing sector. Kelebeng said: \u201cHorse racing has the potential to become a vital catalyst<\/strong> for sport tourism and sustainable rural economic development.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The race was held at Ma-Sa Racing Park near Maun in the Samedupi area, attracting participants from across Botswana as well as neighbouring South Africa and Namibia to compete in multiple race categories<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Gambling Authority said its participation reflects its role as industry regulator and its commitment to fostering an environment in which racing events can thrive within a framework of integrity and professional standards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It added that ensuring responsible gambling remains a key priority<\/strong> as the racing sector continues to develop alongside regulated betting activities.<\/p>\n\n\n
