However, the filing date coincides with Zimbabwe\u2019s Easter break, which runs from Good Friday on April 3 to Easter Monday on April 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to tax compliance guidance referenced in Zimbabwe\u2019s tax procedures, \u201cwhere a due date falls on a weekend or public holiday, the obligation may be fulfilled on the <strong>next business day<\/strong> without penalty\u201d. As a result, operators may submit their returns on April 7, the next working day following the holiday period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reporting obligations stem from gambling tax reforms introduced in January 2026 as part of Zimbabwe\u2019s <strong>national budget measures<\/strong> aimed at increasing state revenue from the expanding betting sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reforms significantly increased taxation on the industry, <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/zimbabwe-gambling-taxes-rise-to-20-for-bookmakers-and-25-for-bettors-in-2026\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/zimbabwe-gambling-taxes-rise-to-20-for-bookmakers-and-25-for-bettors-in-2026\">raising the withholding tax on betting winnings from 10 per cent to 25 per cent<\/a>.
