Angola.- Angola\u2019s gaming regulator, the Institute of Gaming Supervision<\/strong> (ISJ), has highlighted the importance of closer collaboration between African authorities<\/strong> after participating in the recently held Africa Gaming Expo (AGE) 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Angolan ISJ delegation was led by Deputy Director General Cl\u00e1udio Paulo and included senior technicians Dala Linha, Cl\u00e9sio Dias and Ant\u00f3nio Manuel. The ISJ attended the event in Lagos from March 24 to 27, joining regulators, operators and industry stakeholders<\/strong> to discuss key developments and challenges facing Africa\u2019s gaming market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The delegation attended debates and working sessions addressing issues such as strengthening oversight mechanisms<\/strong>, technological innovation and promoting co-operation between regulatory bodies across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ISJ representatives participated in a panel discussion titled \u201cConfronting Unlicensed Operators: Protecting African Gamers and Public Revenue<\/strong>.\u201d ISJ supervises gambling and betting activities in Angola. During the session, discussions examined the challenges posed by unlicensed operators and the role regulators play in protecting consumers and public revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the regulator, experts at the event emphasised the importance of balanced and effective regulatory frameworks<\/strong>. The ISJ said: \u201cBalanced and effective regulation is essential to protect the market, ensure the integrity of the sector and respond to the challenges arising from the growth of illegal gambling in Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n ISJ said its participation reflects its institutional commitment to modernising the regulatory framework, sharing experiences and strengthening its supervisory role<\/strong> within Angola\u2019s gaming sector. The regulator added that its participation in industry forums such as AGE helps reinforce co-operation between regulatory authorities across Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n
