Mauritius.- The countdown to the 2026 horse racing season<\/strong> in Mauritius is under way, with the first barrier trials <\/strong>set to take place on April 7. The sessions will mark the start of pre-season preparations ahead of the island\u2019s racing campaign, paving the way for race meetings and associated betting activity <\/strong>later in the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mauritius Turf Club<\/strong> (MTC) announced that the trials will allow newly arrived horses and returning runners to “familiarise themselves with the starting stalls and complete early conditioning” before competitive racing resumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional barrier trial sessions are provisionally scheduled for April 11, April 14, April 18 and April 21, offering trainers several opportunities<\/strong> to ready their horses ahead of the opening race meeting, according to the MTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
