Industry stakeholders noted that the awards not only celebrate success but also encourage higher standards, collaboration and long-term sustainability within the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Nigeria.- The Africa Gaming Expo (AGE) 2026 <\/strong>concluded on a celebratory note in Lagos<\/strong>, as industry stakeholders gathered for a final-day dinner and awards night to recognise excellence across the gaming sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closing ceremony, which took place on Friday, March 27<\/strong>, brought together regulators, operators, technology providers and investors to celebrate outstanding achievements across multiple segments of the industry. The awards recognised contributions in areas such as gaming operations, fintech innovation, regulatory leadership and responsible gaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the night\u2019s leading awards, BetConstruct was recognised as Platform Provider of the Year, while BetKing received the African Gaming for Good Award. Bet9ja earned the Social Impact Award for its community-focused initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the women-focused category, Angela M. and Olafadeke Akeju were recognised under Women Shaping African Gaming for their roles in advancing inclusion and leadership within the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategic partnership recognition was awarded to Premier Lotto, QTech Games and Betwinner under the AGE Strategic Partners category, highlighting collaborative efforts driving industry growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also spotlighted startups, as Select Punters Limited secured the Afri Pitch title along with a $1,000 (\u20ac920) prize<\/strong>, while Evidencia AI was honoured as AGE Distinguished Sponsor for its role in driving innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the regulatory and responsible gaming space, Sharp Vision was acknowledged under the Pan-African Regulatory Partnership category, while the Gambling Authority of Botswana, also known as GamblingBW, received the Africa\u2019s Responsible Gaming Leadership Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operator category saw 1xBet and betPawa Rwanda jointly named African Sports Betting Operator of the Year. Special awards were presented to Daniel Amokachi, who was celebrated as African Sports Legend, and Moses Itauma, who was appointed AGE Gaming Ambassador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry stakeholders noted that the awards not only celebrate success but also encourage higher standards, collaboration and long-term sustainability within the sector. Held at the Eko Convention Centre, the four-day event featured panel discussions, exhibitions and networking sessions focused on the future of gaming in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n
