South Africa.- The Gauteng Department of Economic Development <\/strong>has opened nominations for appointments to the Gauteng Gambling Board (GGB)<\/strong>, initiating a process aimed at strengthening regulatory oversight of gambling activities in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The call forms part of a wider public invitation for board nominations across several provincial entities, including the Gauteng Liquor Board, Gauteng Tourism Authority and Gauteng Enterprise Propeller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operating under the Gauteng Gambling Act of 1995<\/strong>, the GGB plays a central role in licensing, compliance enforcement and regulating gambling operators in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the nomination notice, eligible candidates must have relevant experience in areas such as governance, law, finance or industry regulation. Members of the public are allowed to nominate qualified individuals, and self-nominations are also permitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The department noted that the appointment process aims to assemble a board of individuals with the technical expertise required to support effective regulation and oversight of the gambling sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All nominations for the Gauteng Gambling Board must be submitted by email to GGBadvert@gauteng.gov.za before the closing date of April 15, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
