South Africa.- The KwaZulu-Natal Economic Regulatory Authority (KZNERA)<\/strong>, in partnership with the Emadlangeni Local Municipality<\/strong>, the South African Police Service (SAPS)<\/strong> and other key stakeholders, hosted a Human Rights, Liquor Compliance and Responsible Gambling Awareness Campaign in Utrecht<\/strong> on Thursday<\/strong>, March 19<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outreach was conducted to educate residents on their rights and responsibilities within the liquor and gambling industries regulated by KZNERA. The programme featured an exhibition that provided straightforward information on licensing, compliance standards and responsible behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees also learnt practical steps for safe engagement, including setting personal limits, recognising signs of problem gambling, seeking support and avoiding illegal or underage activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stakeholders, including the Public Protector, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA)<\/strong> and the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs<\/strong> delivered presentations offering guidance on consumer rights, available support services and regulatory processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign aligns with KZNERA\u2019s ongoing initiatives, including its partnership with the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF) on school roadshows such as \u201cTaking Risks Wisely\u201d to prevent underage gambling and raise awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n
