Angola.- Angola<\/strong> has exempted transactions via mobile payment <\/strong>and instant transfer platforms authorised by the Central Bank from Value Added Tax (VAT). The measure, which came into effect on January\u202f1, is expected to benefit the country\u2019s gambling sector<\/strong>, helping operators reduce costs and encourage the use of regulated digital payment channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By making deposits and withdrawals cheaper and faster, the reform <\/strong>streamlines operations for gambling businesses and promotes compliance<\/strong>, creating a more secure and convenient environment for both operators and players<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the 2026 budget, \u201cAngola\u2019s National Assembly<\/strong> approved tax law amendments via the 2026 General State Budget<\/strong>, effective January 1, 2026,\u201d according to a VATupdate report. The report adds: \u201cTransactions<\/strong> via authorised mobile payment and instant transfer<\/strong> platforms are exempt from VAT.\u201d It highlighted the reduction in transaction expenses for businesses<\/strong> that rely on digital payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
