The GCG, which regulates <strong>casinos, sports betting<\/strong> and other gambling operations, is using the training to strengthen transparency and accountability across the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recent session was facilitated by the Commission\u2019s RTI Unit. It was attended by <strong>Angela Kpegah<\/strong>, Commissioner at the RTI Commission. The <strong>training<\/strong> highlighted the importance of compliance with the RTI Act across public institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kpegah said that adherence is \u201cnot only a <strong>legal obligation<\/strong> but also a crucial step in strengthening good governance, transparency and <strong>public trust<\/strong>\u201d, according to a GCG press release. She commended the Commission for prioritising RTI sensitisation and urged Management to lead by example in embedding RTI principles into <strong>daily operations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Commitment to transparency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Acting Gaming Commissioner, <strong>Emmanuel Quainoo<\/strong>, reaffirmed the Commission\u2019s commitment to upholding the Act. He said: \u201cManagement and staff are dedicated to ensuring the public\u2019s <strong>right<\/strong> to access <strong>information<\/strong> is fully respected and that the Commission remains <strong>responsive <\/strong>to the expectations of citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants were guided through the purpose of the RTI Act, procedures for making and processing information requests, <strong>statutory timelines<\/strong>, exemptions and appeal mechanisms.
