\u00a0South Africa.- Mabutho Zwane<\/strong>, Chief Executive Officer of the Eastern Cape Gambling Board (EGCB)<\/strong>, has been inducted into the SiGMA Africa Hall of Game<\/strong> at the SiGMA Africa Summit, which began on March 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hall of Game honours individuals whose work has had a major impact on gaming regulation, policy formulation and operational standards across African jurisdictions. The award recognises long-term contributions to compliance, oversight and industry best practices that promote organised growth in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zwane, who has led the ECGB for more than a decade, received the honour for his contributions to gambling regulation across Africa and for positioning the province as a continental leader in innovative, technology-focused governance while navigating significant global industry shifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His tenure includes overseeing eleven consecutive clean audits and strengthening online betting supervision and responsible gambling frameworks. His efforts also extend to partnerships with other regulatory bodies across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under his leadership, the Board transformed from a traditional compliance body into one of Africa\u2019s most progressive regulators, modernising processes and adapting to the rapid growth of online and digital gaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond his role in the Eastern Cape, Zwane serves as president of the Gambling Regulators Africa Forum (GRAF)<\/strong>, where he collaborates with regulators across Africa to strengthen regulatory alignment, exchange knowledge and establish credible governance structures for the evolving gaming industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awards ceremony is a key highlight of the three-day SiGMA Africa Summit 2026, which gathers regulators, licensed operators, policymakers and other industry stakeholders from across Africa and beyond to exchange insights and discuss regulatory developments and challenges in the African gambling market.<\/p>\n\n\n
