Mauritius.- Mauritius\u2019s 2026 horse-racing season<\/strong> will begin with higher stakes<\/strong> for competitors and stronger potential for betting markets<\/strong>, after the Mauritius Turf Club Jockey Club (MTCJC) announced a 30\u202fper cent increase in prize money<\/strong>. The increase follows a mid-season boost in 2025, amounting to roughly 50 per cent growth<\/strong> in total prize money over two seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The MTCJC said: \u201cThe Mauritius Turf Club has increased stakes money for the 2026 racing season by 30\u202fper cent, rewarding owners and trainers and strengthening the overall racing industry<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The stakes increase also includes a 10\u202fper cent retroactive bonus <\/strong>on 2025 earnings, aimed at supporting owners and trainers.
