South Africa.- The North West Gambling Board (NWGB)<\/strong> has extended support to three non-profit organisations in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District<\/strong>t Municipality<\/strong>, reinforcing its social responsibility role within the province\u2019s gambling sector. The beneficiaries – Ditsobotla Creative Arts<\/strong>, Kgolo Foundation<\/strong> and Ipopeng Service Club<\/strong> – each received donated assets previously held by the Board. The contributions form part of the entity\u2019s commitment to community upliftment and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a statement from the Board, the assets were disposed of in line with provisions of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)<\/strong> and its Treasury regulations. While public entities generally sell unused state assets at market-related value, Treasury rules allow for the transfer of movable assets to organisations capable of advancing public benefit outcomes. The Board said the donations ensure idle resources are put to constructive use in support of vulnerable communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recent asset transfers are consistent with the Board\u2019s expanding focus on social impact beyond regulatory oversight. In its annual operations, the NWGB has also supported initiatives aimed at youth engagement and responsible gambling education, having funded sports, cultural and awareness programmes in previous financial cycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives of the beneficiary organisations expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the donations will strengthen programmes focused on arts, youth development and community services. The Board said it will continue to explore partnerships aligned with its mission to promote responsible gambling and social progress within the province.<\/p>\n\n\n
