Senegal.- Senegal\u2019s national lottery operator (LONASE) <\/strong>has welcomed a delegation from Mali\u2019s Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU Mali)<\/strong> for a working visit focused on day-to-day operations in the lottery and betting sector. The group, received by Director General Toussaint Manga on Monday, February 21<\/strong>, toured operational facilities, observed gaming processes and exchanged insights on technology adoption and responsible gaming practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, LONASE described the visit as an opportunity to exchange expertise and strengthen institutional capacities, including best practices in gaming operations and digitalisation. During the meeting, the two organisations reiterated their intention to work more closely together, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthen cooperation and promote a high-performing governance model to support the development of the gaming sector in West Africa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Senegal visit follows a similar LONASE trip<\/a> in December 2025<\/strong> to Lottotech in Mauritius<\/strong>, where the team explored partnership models and responsible gaming practices, with implementation already underway. In May 2025<\/strong>, PMU Mali also hosted a benchmarking delegation from Niger\u2019s national lottery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These exchanges reflect a practical pattern across West African lotteries, with operators comparing notes on what works, testing ideas from one market in another and keeping services reliable for players. Such direct contact helps lottery teams in the region keep pace with changes in technology and player habits while supporting steady growth in a sector that contributes to national budgets.<\/p>\n\n\n
