Ghana.- Ghana National Lottery Authority <\/strong>has conducted intensive staff training <\/strong>on 5,000 new point-of-sale (POS) machines, marking a major operational step following its partnership with Fidelity Bank<\/strong> Ghana. The initiative is designed to accelerate payouts<\/strong>, improve operational efficiency and strengthen public trust<\/strong> in the official lottery system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session equipped NLA staff and stakeholders with the skills needed to manage, monitor and operate the upgraded POS infrastructure<\/strong>. Participants were guided through the full operational process, including machine functionality<\/strong>, transaction flow and instant pay-out features<\/strong>, signalling a shift from strategic announcements to active implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohammed Abdul-Salam<\/strong>, Director General of the NLA, said: \u201cThe project addresses longstanding challenges <\/strong>such as overused machines, delayed payouts and limited system visibility<\/strong>, while being implemented without drawing on NLA\u2019s budget.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nationwide POS rollout accelerates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The NLA recently began a phased nationwide<\/strong> rollout of the POS terminals, including instant payout limits of up to GH\u00a230,000 (\u20ac2,280). The move forms part of a broader digital transformation<\/strong> and anti-illegal operator strategy, aimed at expanding licensed market access, improving oversight and ensuring accountability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Tabaayi, representative of the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, highlighted speed as a critical driver<\/strong> of trust in the lottery business and introduced the Blue Pay POS machines. He said that the system provides real-time data and automation<\/strong> to strengthen competitiveness<\/strong> and accountability across operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership is set to modernise Ghana\u2019s lottery ecosystem, enhancing transaction traceability<\/strong>, improving reporting and reinforcing licensed sales channels<\/strong>. The new POS infrastructure is expected to restore public confidence, improve service delivery and support revenue growth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
