Cyclists from Burkina Faso and Mali competed in a major cycling race, supported by lottery funding to boost sports, youth and community initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Burkina Faso.- Burkina Faso National Lottery (LONAB)<\/strong> took a leading role in the RTB Cycling Grand Prix<\/strong>, highlighting its commitment to sports and youth development<\/strong>. The 127.5\u202fkm (79.3 mile) race, held on February 15, brought together cyclists from Burkina Faso and Mali and was funded through lottery revenues<\/strong> aimed at supporting national development initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LONAB\u2019s Director General, Ibrahim Zarani<\/strong>, said: \u201cSupporting sport is taking on our social responsibility<\/strong> and actively contributing to the development of our country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The race took place in Ouagadougou under the banner \u201cWith the people, the RTB pedals to victory<\/strong>\u201d and was held with support from Burkina Faso\u2019s national radio and television broadcaster (RTB). The event drew a crowd of high-profile<\/strong> attendees, including Burkina Faso\u2019s Prime Minister<\/strong>, Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo, who came out to support the cyclists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LONAB highlighted the broader impact<\/strong> of lottery funding. \u201cBecause every bet<\/strong> you make contributes to the radiance of our nation, LONAB remains the preferred partner<\/strong> of sports and youth more than ever,\u201d added Zarani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The winner<\/strong> of the race was Moukaila Rawende, with Souma\u00efla Ilboudo taking second place. Other top competitors<\/strong> included Soulama Bamassi and Moussa Ou\u00e9draogo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Through events like this, LONAB demonstrates that lottery funding goes beyond supporting sport <\/strong>– it creates opportunities for young people and strengthens communities<\/strong> across the country, reinforcing its role as a key partner in national development.<\/p>\n\n\n
