Benin.- The National Lottery of Benin<\/strong> (LNB) has issued a public warning<\/strong> after identifying fraudulent social media<\/strong> accounts impersonating the lottery and attempting to collect money from members of the public<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an official notice, LNB said: \u201cNo agent of the National Lottery of Benin is authorised to request or collect money<\/strong> via Facebook, WhatsApp or any other online platform<\/strong>, and no fees are required either to play or to withdraw your winnings<\/strong>.\u201d The lottery added that any request for payment constitutes impersonation and urged the public not to be deceived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the operator, fraudsters<\/strong> have been posing as lottery agents and asking individuals to transfer money in exchange for supposed participation, winnings or processing fees<\/strong>. LNB said that legitimate participation<\/strong> does not require payments to agents online and that no charges apply when claiming prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The alert follows reports of fake accounts using the lottery\u2019s name and branding<\/strong> on social media platforms. The operator advised the public to verify information <\/strong>through its recognised official communication channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LNB is Benin\u2019s state-licensed lottery operator and conducts official lottery activities in accordance with national regulations<\/strong>. The company said protecting the public from fraud and safeguarding its identity<\/strong> remain priorities as scammers attempt to exploit its name online. <\/p>\n\n\n
