Ghana.- Ghana\u2019s National Lottery Authority (NLA) <\/strong>has completed a two-day capacity-building<\/strong> programme aimed at strengthening leadership<\/strong>, decision-making and management practices across the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held from January 7 to 8, the training brought together middle and senior management staff to explore key areas including leadership development, workplace culture<\/strong>, budgeting, financial discipline, tax compliance<\/strong> and risk management, all critical to the Authority\u2019s operations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sessions<\/strong> were facilitated by MKK Solutions Consult Limited, with expert contributions<\/strong> from Mohammed Abdul\u2011Salam, Director\u2011General of the NLA; James Avedzi, official at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); Richard Quarshigah, politician; and Wiafe Akenten, academic, who shared practical insights and real-life examples focused on responsible leadership and sound governance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NLA said: \u201cThis programme is part of our broader commitment<\/strong> to strengthening institutional discipline, improving decision-making and fostering a culture of accountability<\/strong> and continuous improvement across the Authority.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, Ghana\u2019s NLA and its flagship 5\/90 lottery<\/strong> product continued to set a benchmark for the continent\u2019s gaming sector. The Authority\u2019s operations and governance model <\/strong>are being referenced by other African lottery operators, with the Abdul-Salam noting that \u201ca lot of countries across Africa are emulating the example of Ghana when it comes to the 5\/90 lottery”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This recognition underscores the NLA\u2019s role as a leading example<\/strong> in lottery regulation, product design and institutional management.<\/p>\n\n\n
