Côte d’Ivoire.- Côte d’Ivoire’s National Lottery (LONACI) delivered a strong financial performance in 2025, increasing contributions to the state by 40 per cent, totalling CFA21bn (€31.5m), underscoring the lottery’s growing role in national revenue generation.

In 2025, LONACI also redistributed CFA413.9bn (€621m) to bettors, a 17 per cent rise compared with 2024, highlighting both strong player engagement and the growing popularity of its retail and digital gaming platforms.

These results were presented by Director General Dramane Coulibaly during LONACI’s traditional New Year staff ceremony on February 2, at its Bietry studios, attended by the Board of Directors and senior management.

LONACI said: “There was nearly FCFA414bn donated to bettors in 2025, with contributions to the State rising to FCFA21bn , reflecting strong growth in both player engagement and our support for national revenues.”

Beyond payouts, LONACI plays a central role in Côte d’Ivoire’s gambling sector. The organisation provides regulated lottery and betting services across retail and digital channels, ensuring safe and transparent gaming, while promoting responsible play. This balance of commercial success and public accountability positions LONACI as a key state-backed revenue generator and industry model.

Côte d’Ivoire’s industry observers note that the 40 per cent increase in state contributions highlights how a state-backed lottery can act as a critical revenue source, supporting public finances while sustaining a thriving regulated gambling market.

Meanwhile, the 17 per cent rise in player pay-outs reflects expanded product offerings, deeper market reach and higher participation.

Driving revenue and responsible gambling
