Kenya.- Kenya\u2019s leading sports betting company, SportPesa<\/strong>, kicks off 2026 on a high note, planning more than 100 betting events<\/strong> across football, rugby, motorsport, boxing and basketball, and celebrating a major legal victory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite entering the year after a challenging period, SportPesa is positioned for growth, combining betting momentum<\/strong> with community<\/strong> and sports development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CEO Ronald Karauri<\/strong> highlighted the company\u2019s focus on both sports and community development. \u201cOur plans for 2026 will see SportPesa continue supporting the development<\/strong> of local sports and fans,\u201d he said, according to TV47.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that recent legal clarity <\/strong>in Kenya and the UK has set a strong foundation for growth<\/strong>, including the affirmation of the company\u2019s right to use the SportPesa brand <\/strong>and the dismissal<\/strong> of a UK shareholder claim. The claimant was ordered to pay \u00a3548,000 (\u20ac636,000) to SportPesa Global Holdings and \u00a31.6m (\u20ac1.86m) to directors in interim costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, Karauri added: \u201cAs we look to 2026, our focus<\/strong> remains clear. We will continue investing in Kenyan sport, strengthening responsible gaming<\/strong> practices, expanding community programmes and delivering experiences that resonate with our customers<\/strong> and the wider public.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sporting diversity under strict regulations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SportPesa\u2019s calendar<\/strong> for the year includes the SportPesa League, HSBC SVNS Nairobi, the Shujaa rugby tournaments<\/strong>, Safari Rally competitions, national autocross events<\/strong> and grassroots initiatives such as Cheza Dimba and Tujiamini 3.0, reinforcing the company\u2019s strategy to combine entertainment, sport and social impact<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early wins on the Aviator<\/strong> game, including a KSh80m (\u20ac608,000) payout, highlight strong customer engagement<\/strong> as the company strengthens its betting and sports footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, SportPesa continues to navigate regulatory scrutiny<\/strong> in 2026.
