Botswana.- The Botswana Gambling Authority<\/strong> participated in a Resource Mobilisation Workshop<\/strong>, hosted by the Botswana Council for the Disabled (BCD) in partnership with Boleng Training and Consultancy Services. The workshop aimed to help community-based<\/strong> organisations facing economic challenges strengthen their capacity to secure resources<\/strong> and manage projects effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event that took place January 12-15, the Authority\u2019s Senior Licensing Officer delivered a presentation on Private Lotteries<\/strong>, providing attendees with insights into how licensed lotteries operate under Botswana\u2019s regulatory framework. The session focused on licensing<\/strong> requirements and operational procedures, helping participants understand the legal and structured ways to run private lotteries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public Education Officer Mavis Madumetse delivered a presentation on Responsible Gambling practices<\/strong>, emphasising the importance of informed and balanced participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur participation in this workshop reinforces the Gambling Authority\u2019s commitment<\/strong> to promoting responsible gambling and supporting capacity\u2011building <\/strong>initiatives that benefit communities,\u201d said Madumetse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Authority added that workshops like this support public engagement<\/strong> and education, helping communities understand the regulatory framework for lotteries and other forms of gaming. \u201cEngagements of this nature support social inclusion<\/strong> while encouraging responsible practices within regulated sectors,\u201d said the Authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
