{"id":1664,"date":"2025-04-28T03:00:21","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T06:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/?p=1664"},"modified":"2026-04-19T17:30:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T20:30:08","slug":"nlgrb-partners-with-gli-for-responsible-gaming-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/africa\/nlgrb-partners-with-gli-for-responsible-gaming-training","title":{"rendered":"NLGRB partners with GLI for responsible gaming training"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The program equipped NLGRB staff with skills to effectively regulate the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Uganda.- The <strong>National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board <\/strong>(NLGRB) has successfully concluded a three-day responsible gaming training program in collaboration with <strong>Gaming Laboratories International<\/strong> (GLI), LLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program, which ran from <strong>Wednesday, April 23 to 25<\/strong>, at <strong>Kabira Country Club<\/strong>, equipped participants, mainly the NLGRB staff, with critical skills to promote responsible gaming practices and effectively regulate the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the NLGRB, the training aligns with its ongoing efforts to create a secure gaming environment and strengthen its internal capabilities in responsible gaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The regulator also said that the initiative will help it create <strong>practical, localised manuals<\/strong> tailored to the needs of various stakeholders, particularly game operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the second day of the program, participants were taken through an awareness session on gaming risks, using a high-low game to demonstrate potential harm. They were enjoined to play responsibly by setting time and budget limits, not chasing losses, and taking breaks when needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On day three, attendees engaged in group discussions on key aspects of responsible gaming, including self-exclusion, player education, legislative framework and stakeholder engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NLGRB emphasises the need for corporates to understand the potential risks gaming poses to employees and overall work performance.
