LONASE strengthens workforce stability by regularising temporary roles, highlighting professional standards in lottery and betting operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Senegal.- Senegal\u2019s National Lottery<\/strong> (LONASE) has formalised 86 service provider roles<\/strong> for 2026<\/strong>, part of its ongoing effort to strengthen professional<\/strong> standards and workforce<\/strong> stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LONASE said the move is part of the organisation\u2019s five-year plan<\/strong> for the \u201cresorption of precarious (unstable\/temporary) jobs\u201d, designed to improve job security<\/strong> and practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan focuses on reducing or eliminating temporary and uncertain <\/strong>roles by formalising them into stable, recognised<\/strong> positions, giving staff greater employment security. \u201cThis action translates a clear will to build a more equitable<\/strong>, responsible and future-oriented administration, where decent work and the dignity <\/strong>of agents are a priority<\/strong>,\u201d said LONASE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By regularising<\/strong> these 86 service provider roles, LONASE reinforces job security and strengthens the lottery system. LONASE, as Senegal\u2019s national lottery operator, manages the country\u2019s official<\/strong> lottery and regulated <\/strong>betting activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its responsibilities include licencing <\/strong>and overseeing lottery service providers, managing ticket<\/strong> sales, coordinating outlets nationwide<\/strong> and ensuring compliance<\/strong> with national regulations. These activities form the operational<\/strong> backbone of Senegal\u2019s lottery system and help maintain standards for the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upgrades and expansion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to formalising staff <\/strong>roles, LONASE has been modernising its operations. In 2025, the authority partnered with Mauritius-based Lottotech to upgrade<\/strong> gaming technology and provide staff training<\/strong>, improving technical capacity and gaming products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier that year, it reorganised its leadership<\/strong> and appointed new executives to strengthen marketing, operations and nationwide sales networks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lottery authority has also expanded<\/strong> its regional presence, opening a new agency in Bignona to provide lottery services in previously underserved areas. These 86 temporary service provider roles are now formalised, giving staff recognised status and improved employment <\/strong>conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n
