Uganda.- The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board<\/strong> (NLGRB) showcased Uganda\u2019s commitment to a safe, transparent and regulated gambling<\/strong> environment at the 2nd National Court Open Day. The recent event, organised by the Judiciary of Uganda, provided an important platform for public engagement<\/strong>, raising awareness<\/strong> and fostering collaboration to enhance justice<\/strong> delivery across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NLGRB offered visitors a closer look at its regulatory<\/strong> efforts, demonstrating its role in ensuring the industry remains legal<\/strong>, fair and consumer-friendly<\/strong>. The exhibition, held at Kololo Independence Grounds, featured confiscated gaming machines, brochures and posters, providing educational materials on responsible<\/strong> gambling and consumer protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NLGRB said: \u201cThe Board reaffirms its commitment<\/strong> to working closely with the Judiciary and other stakeholders to promote access to justice, uphold accountability<\/strong> and ensure a safe and responsible gaming environment for all Ugandans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public interaction and fairness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Board emphasised the interactive <\/strong>nature of the exhibition, where visitors gained first-hand insight into how the NLGRB regulates gaming, including licensing<\/strong>, compliance and responsible gambling practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NLGRB engaged with the public<\/strong> on several key areas, including the licensing of gaming operators, player protection measures, compliance<\/strong> checks and the prosecution of illegal<\/strong> gaming operators. Officials were on hand to educate visitors about the Board’s role in ensuring fair play and enforcing the rules of the industry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials from the Standards, Wildlife and Utilities Court attended, reinforcing collaboration between the Judiciary and the NLGRB to maintain a secure and trustworthy <\/strong>gambling sector. Notable attendees included Justice Christopher Gashirabake, Justice of the Court of Appeal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This engagement follows broader efforts by the NLGRB to strengthen Uganda\u2019s regulated gambling sector, including a strategic partnership<\/strong> with the Judiciary and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to enhance enforcement <\/strong>against illegal gaming, establish dedicated gaming offence courts and support legal and responsible play.<\/p>\n\n\n
