Ggeneral Manager Toussaint Manga has noted that the recently applied 20 per cent tax on winnings and operators has had a positive impact on the operator’s profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Senegal.- LONASE’s General Manager, Toussaint Manga<\/strong>, has revealed that the national lottery’s profit for the first nine months<\/strong> of the year reached 27bn FCFA<\/strong> (\u20ac41.1m). Manga disclosed the figures while speaking to the press after a workshop on the organisation’s next five-year Strategic Development Plan, held in Pointe Sar\u00e8ne<\/strong> on Monday, December 15<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the manager, as of the end of June 2025<\/strong>, LONASE’s profits stood at 21bn FCFA<\/strong> (\u20ac32m), indicating growth of 28 per cent<\/strong> in the third quarter. He said: “We have to wait until the end of the financial year with the accounts to be able to release the real figure. But what’s clear is that the performance is there, despite everything.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manga also noted that the recently applied 20 per cent tax <\/strong>on winnings and operators has had a positive impact. He said: “In November, just from our physical network, we contributed 2.1bn to employment and related areas, solely from the tax levied on winnings.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting LONASE’s significance to national revenue and economic recovery plan, Manga stated that the company aims to contribute 75bn FCFA<\/strong> (\u20ac114.3m) every quarter to drive the plan forward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said: “We’ve started, and we remain optimistic about achieving this goal. What’s notable is that today, alongside customs and tax authorities, LONASE has become a company that contributes significantly to state revenues.”<\/p>\n\n\n
