With the holidays approaching, residents were advised to be extra careful and responsible when betting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South Africa.- The North West Gambling Board (NWGB)<\/strong>, alongside its parent department, the Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism (DEDECT)<\/strong>, and other entities, participated in the Thuntsha Lerole Reloaded programme<\/strong>, which took place at Moses Kotane Local Municipality’s Ward 04<\/strong> – Vitkyk Open Space<\/strong>, near Tholo Primary School <\/strong>on Monday, December 15<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outreach formed part of the final Accelerated Service Delivery Programme<\/strong> push for the year, bringing government services to rural areas and tackling ward-specific issues to improve residents’ lives. The NWGB used the engagement to inform community members about its responsibilities, services and the importance of responsible gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The board advised residents to gamble responsibly, be aware of their limits, shun illegal gambling and keep gambling activities away from children under 18<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regulator also updated attendees on its law enforcement activities, including the recent demolition of around 250 illegal gambling machines in Mahikeng and Rustenburg<\/strong>. The demolished machines had been seized by law enforcement throughout the year, demonstrating the Board’s ongoing commitment to eradicating illegal gambling in North West Province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the holidays approaching, residents were urged to be extra careful and responsible when betting and avoid gambling away essential funds like salaries, pensions or social grants. The NWGB encouraged communities to put family needs and financial security first.<\/p>\n\n\n
