They returned and<strong> approved <\/strong>the licence renewal. \u201cWhen asked why they met the MulaSport Director in Nelpruit, they claimed it was a coincidence,\u201d according to the Swaziland News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The renewal comes amid an ACC <strong>investigation<\/strong> into a financial <strong>transaction <\/strong>exceeding R300m (\u20ac15.6m). Maphevu Mkhatjwa, Acting Commissioner of the ACC, wrote to Khangeziwe Mabuza, then Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, requesting MulaSport Betting\u2019s accounts for <strong>review<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A letter cited by Swaziland News states: \u201cThe Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) is conducting an investigation pertaining the <strong>allegations <\/strong>of corruption connected to MulaSport Betting. In terms of Section 11 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 3 of 2006 (POCA), you are kindly requested to assist and provide us with the Management<strong> accounts<\/strong> of MulaSport Betting (Pty) Ltd as per your terms and conditions, company accounts 4.3. for the period year 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Probe continues amid licence renewal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As the licence was renewed, the ACC continues its <strong>review<\/strong> of the transaction linked to MulaSport Betting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flagged transaction prompted action by the <strong>Central Bank of Eswatini<\/strong> (CBE), which alerted both the ACC and the Eswatini <strong>Financial Intelligence <\/strong>Unit (EFIU). This shows the financial oversight built into the country\u2019s regulated gambling sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Khaya Magagula<\/strong>, MulaSport Betting Director, said: \u201cI am not aware of the investigation.\u201d Documents indicate that Clement Sihlongonyane and <strong>corruption<\/strong> detective Henson Mavimbela are leading the team reviewing MulaSport Betting.
