South Africa- Betway Africa<\/strong> has confirmed a major leadership transition, with longtime CEO Laurence Michel <\/strong>stepping into the role of Chairman <\/strong>after two decades at the company\u2019s helm. The move signals a renewed focus on strategic governance<\/strong>, regional growth and innovation across Betway\u2019s operations<\/strong> in Africa, including South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michel\u2019s 20-year<\/strong> tenure as CEO saw Betway expand into multiple African markets, building a strong regulatory<\/strong> footprint while cementing a market-leading brand identity known for reliability and player engagement<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His leadership was defined by strategic sponsorships, responsible gaming<\/strong> initiatives and a commitment to local <\/strong>market adaptation, ensuring the operator met the needs of both regulators and players<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Setting out his priorities<\/strong> for the role, Michel shared his thoughts in a LinkedIn post, describing the transition as both a milestone<\/strong> and a moment of renewed focus<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michel highlighted the contributions<\/strong> of the team behind Betway\u2019s success, saying: \u201cAfter an incredible 20 years as CEO, I am honoured to announce my transition <\/strong>to Chairman of Betway Africa and my continued involvement as part of the executive team at SuperGroup.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
