Kenyan club officials gain advanced scouting skills, highlighting SportPesa\u2019s investment in regional football development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Kenya.- SportPesa<\/strong>, one of East Africa\u2019s leading sports betting <\/strong>operators, has sent six football <\/strong>club officials from Kenya to participate in an Advanced Talent Identification Workshop<\/strong> in South Africa, as part of efforts to strengthen scouting and long-term player development<\/strong> across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talent Identification is a key part of modern<\/strong> football development, helping clubs spot and evaluate players with the potential to progress to higher levels <\/strong>at an early stage. Held from 8 to 10 December, the workshop<\/strong> formed part of SportPesa\u2019s broader efforts to support football in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SportPesa said: \u201cThe workshop is aimed at enhancing the skills<\/strong> of club officials in identifying and nurturing top talent, as well as improving scouting processes in their respective teams.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation comprised officials drawn from the Kenyan football clubs<\/strong> Gor Mahia, Shabana and Murang\u2019a Seal, and was led by Robert Macharia<\/strong> of the Football Kenya Federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boosting regional scouting skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The programme was hosted at Tshwane University of Technology<\/strong> in Pretoria and led by Walter Steenbok, a recognised talent identification expert with experience working within South Africa\u2019s national team structures and youth<\/strong> academy systems. Participants received training <\/strong>in performance and data analysis, player observation at university and community levels and player development research<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operator said: \u201cSportPesa continues to invest in football development by supporting capacity building and educational<\/strong> programmes for officials across the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SportPesa also highlighted the regional <\/strong>scope of the initiative. \u201cThis initiative brings together officials from Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa to share expertise<\/strong> and best practices in talent identification”, added SportPesa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company sponsors leagues<\/strong>, including the SportPesa Premier League, and backs initiatives such as youth programmes, talent ID training and community engagement <\/strong>across East Africa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initiatives such as this contribute to a stronger football ecosystem, supporting league competitiveness<\/strong>, player development and the sustainability<\/strong> of regulated football betting markets in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n
