The Authority also used the opportunity to share details about upcoming operator licence applications and to remind the public to use only licensed betting outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The organisation\u2019s participation was in line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which focus on education, awareness and community outreach. It also ties to its ongoing <strong>Motshameko O Phepa campaign<\/strong>, which seeks to conduct responsible gambling outreaches <strong>across 500 sites <\/strong>in Botswana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an official statement after the tournament, the Authority said: \u201cWe are delighted to support the Jwaneng Masters Basketball Tournament that was held on 5 and 6 December. This partnership was a key play in our CSR strategy. We successfully engaged with attendees, from players to passionate betting enthusiasts, using the atmosphere as a unique platform to champion responsible gambling awareness. Our on-site stall served as the hub spot where we discussed the serious side of gambling addiction and reinforced our mandate for positive social change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jwaneng Masters is a popular annual community basketball competition that draws teams and supporters from across southern Botswana. Through its presence at sports events, markets and cultural gatherings, the Authority engages with a broad audience, including younger people and regular gamblers.
