The Uganda National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) showcased the country\u2019s progress in modernising its <strong>regulatory framework<\/strong>, digitalising <strong>compliance processes<\/strong>, and expanding responsible gaming initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to a safe and <strong>transparent <\/strong>gaming sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A delegation from the NLGRB, led by Board Chairman <strong>Ken Kitariko<\/strong> and CEO <strong>Denis Ngabirano<\/strong>, engaged with regulators and industry leaders from across Africa to explore ways to strengthen <strong>cross-border cooperation<\/strong>, leverage <strong>technology<\/strong> and harmonise standards continent-wide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NLGRB said: \u201cThe National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board\u2019s <strong>representation<\/strong> highlighted Uganda\u2019s progress in modernising its<strong> regulatory framework<\/strong>, digitalising compliance processes and expanding <strong>responsible<\/strong> gaming initiatives within communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board also highlighted Uganda\u2019s growing role in regional gaming oversight. \u201cMost gaming operators in Uganda maintain operations across <strong>multiple jurisdictions<\/strong>, necessitating NLGRB\u2019s collaboration with other African Gaming Regulators. NLGRB\u2019s participation in GRAF 2025 reiterates Uganda\u2019s commitment to upholding <strong>global best practices<\/strong> and strengthening the <strong>integrity<\/strong>, fairness and transparency of the gaming sector,\u201d added the NLGRB<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GRAF shapes Africa\u2019s gaming future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual GRAF Conference, held from November 17-20 in Sun City, <strong>South Africa<\/strong>, brought together regulators, policymakers and industry leaders to discuss <strong>emerging trends<\/strong>, innovations and best practices shaping gaming regulation across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Themed \u201c<strong>Strengthening Gambling Regulation in Africa<\/strong>: Collaborative Action Against Gambling Harm and Promotion of Responsible Play in a Tech-Driven Era\u201d, the event emphasised Africa\u2019s commitment to creating a safe, innovative and <strong>player-focused <\/strong>gaming ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mabutho Zwane<\/strong>, GRAF President, said: &#8220;Africa regulates better if Africa works together, and the growth of the gaming sector should never come at the expense of the player.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Launched in 2003, GRAF provides a <strong>platform<\/strong> for African regulators to <strong>share knowledge<\/strong>, address common challenges and develop<strong> collaborative strategies<\/strong>.
