It aims to transform the country into a hub for<strong> innovation<\/strong> in<strong> video games<\/strong>, education, health, tourism and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement was signed by Minister <strong>Mohamed\u202fMehdi Bensaid<\/strong> and <strong>Khalid Safir,<\/strong> Director General of CDG in Rabat on November 13, highlighting their joint commitment to developing Morocco\u2019s gaming start-up ecosystem.<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bensaid said: \u201cThe initiative is part of the <strong>national strategy<\/strong> to support small cultural businesses, especially those active in video games.\u201d He highlighted the sector\u2019s <strong>rapid expansion<\/strong>, noting that Morocco now counts around 40 gaming start-ups, compared with &#8220;just two or three in 2021&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gamification Lab will create a<strong> national platform<\/strong> to promote and facilitate the adoption of gamification solutions developed by Moroccan start-ups. These solutions will be offered to public- and private-sector organisations, reflecting the initiative\u2019s broad impact across <strong>education<\/strong>, health, culture, employment and<strong> tourism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Building skills for Morocco\u2019s gaming future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This new agreement follows recent efforts to organise and develop the gaming ecosystem. Last May, two agreements were signed to strengthen <strong>professional training<\/strong> in <strong>gaming-related careers<\/strong>: one introduced dedicated university programs in <strong>video game<\/strong> development, while the other created three vocational pathways: e-sport caster, e-sport streamer and video game laboratory technician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across Africa, the gaming market continues to gain <strong>momentum<\/strong>. According to a report by the African publisher Carry1st and research firm Newzoo, the sector generated $1.8bn in 2024, up<strong> 12.4 per cent<\/strong> from 2023.
