Lungile Dukwana, acting CEO of the National Gambling Board, will present a keynote address on \u201cThe future of gambling regulation in South Africa\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South Africa.- The National Gambling Board (NGB) of South Africa<\/strong> has announced that it will be participating in the 16th Annual Gambling Regulators Africa Forum (GRAF) conference<\/strong>, which kicks off today and will run until November 20<\/strong> at the Sun City Resort in South Africa’s North-West Province<\/strong>. The board stated that its executive members will engage with regulators across Africa to strengthen and formulate collaborative strategies for responsible and effective gambling regulation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the theme “Strengthening Gambling Regulation in Africa: A Collaborative Action Against Illegal Gambling and Promotion of Responsible Play in a Tech-Driven Era”<\/strong>, this year’s conference aims to improve gambling oversight in Africa, focusing on issues such as cross-border licensing, digital sports betting regulation, anti-money-laundering measures and responsible advertising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lungile Dukwana<\/strong>, acting CEO of the NGB, will deliver a keynote address on “The Future of Gambling Regulation in South Africa<\/strong>” while Yvonne Gwenhure<\/strong>, the board’s Senior Manager, Strategist for Organisational Performance, will participate as a panelist.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the recently concluded Responsible Gambling Summit in Durban<\/strong>, Dukwana noted the need<\/a> for enhanced responsible gambling measures, as South Africa experiences a boom in its online gambling market, which generated more than 60 per cent of the R75 billion<\/strong> (\u20ac3.7bn) GGR recorded in 2024\/25 <\/strong>and has led to a 31 per cent<\/strong> problem gambling prevalence rate.<\/p>\n\n\n
