Kenya.- In a major boost for Africa\u2019s gaming ecosystem<\/strong>, Kenyan companies Jiwe\u202fIO<\/strong> and Blackhards<\/strong> have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen pathways for independent game developers<\/strong> across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jiwe\u202fIO, a leading platform<\/strong> and studio<\/strong>, provides developers with tools, crowdfunding and community initiatives, while Blackhards brings creative expertise to help indie games reach wider audiences<\/strong> and unlock new opportunities for local talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deal comes at a time when Africa\u2019s gaming industry is experiencing rapid growth<\/strong>. According to a recent analysis, Africa\u2019s gaming market generated around $1.8bn <\/strong>in 2024, with mobile gaming accounting for around 90 per cent <\/strong>of revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By fostering stronger support networks<\/strong> for indie developers, the partnership could play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of African games and creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
