The Enugu government aims to leverage the gaming and digital entertainment sectors to drive its ambitious economic plan of boosting GDP from $4.4bn to $30bn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prince Arinze Arum<\/strong>, the executive secretary and CEO of ESGC, said: &#8220;The Enugu Gaming Conference is more than just a gathering. It&#8217;s a statement of intent by Enugu State to harness gaming for economic development, tech innovation, youth engagement and regional leadership. This year&#8217;s theme reflects the critical need to shift from a centralised, fragmented market to a diversified, collaborative ecosystem.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>More than 1,000 attendees<\/strong> from various fields and parts of the country are expected to attend the conference, which will boost the local economy and drive growth in tourism, hospitality, technology and other industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though hosted in the South East, the ripple effects of the conference will be felt nationwide. The event will highlight how the industry has adapted to <strong>the 2024 Supreme Court ruling<\/strong>, which empowered state governments to regulate the sector. It will also foster collaboration between operators, regulators, tech providers, investors and legal experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The forum will feature panel discussions on decentralisation and the evolving role of state regulators. Responsible gaming will also be a key focus of the event; panellists will address critical issues like addiction, data protection, youth access and social responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Promising startups will get the opportunity to pitch their projects to potential investors at the event. The conference will also feature exhibitions from local and international companies offering betting, lottery, esports and casual gaming products and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This conference mirrors two gatherings that will take place in Nigeria in <strong>June 2025<\/strong>, where responsible gambling is a major theme.
