ARJH launches awareness campaign against illegal slot machines while the government approves a digital monitoring platform to strengthen gambling oversight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

C\u00f4te\u202fd\u2019Ivoire.- C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire<\/strong> is tightening its grip on illegal gambling<\/strong> in a bold move to strengthen the integrity <\/strong>of its legal gaming market. The country\u2019s Gambling Regulatory Authority <\/strong>(ARJH) has rolled out a series of actions aimed at cleaning up the sector and protecting players, including a public awareness <\/strong>drive and the introduction of a new national monitoring platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October, ARJH launched a regional awareness campaign<\/strong> across Kouassi Kouassikro, Bocanda and Dimbokro to educate young people about the risks of unlicensed slot machines<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARJH representatives said that such machines operate outside the legal framework,<\/strong> exposing users to financial losses<\/strong> and potential criminal exploitation. \u201cOur objective is to protect the youth from illegal practices that promise easy money<\/strong> but lead to harm,\u201d said Daho Mamadou, counsellor at ARJH, according to AIP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local youth leaders <\/strong>supported the campaign. \u201cYoung people need guidance. Education<\/strong> and legal activities are key to preparing our future, not illegal slot machines,\u201d said Tour\u00e9 Aboubacar, delegate from the National Youth Council in Dimbokro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crackdown coincides with a sweeping digital reform. On October 1 the Ivorian government approved a decree <\/strong>establishing a digital monitoring platform in partnership with the National Lottery of C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire (LONACI) and Afitech CI. The system is designed to track gaming flows, enhance transparency<\/strong> and strengthen regulatory supervision of both online and retail gambling operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By pairing education with innovation, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire is laying the groundwork for a safer, more accountable <\/strong>gaming industry. Regulators say the reforms will help protect young players, ensure fair competition and strengthen confidence in the country\u2019s growing legal gambling market. <\/p>\n\r\n\t\t
