In its recently published financial report, the company said that it has achieved a 95 per cent share in the Southern African market just months after launching.

According to Super Group, Africa accounted for 64 per cent of Betway’s revenues of $1.014bn (€933m) in the first nine months of 2025. This represented $646m (€595m) across eight markets, marking an increase of 34 per cent from $481m (€443m) in the previous year. The company, which entered Botswana in February 2025, noted that of all its African operating markets, Botswana continues to show exceptional momentum post-launch.

While other African countries like South Africa, Ghana, Zambia and Mozambique are in the top-ten list, Botswana’s inclusion is notable, given the market only opened earlier this year. Betway Africa CEO Laurence Michel described the Botswana launch as “the best country launch ever.”

Alinda van Wyk, Super Group’s CFO, said that the company is thrilled with Botswana’s performance and hopes to achieve similar success elsewhere.

She continued: “We do obviously see Botswana as a standard in the mix when it comes to first launch. Botswana was about four per cent growth in Quarter 1, 4.5 per cent in Quarter 2 and now 6.5 per cent in Quarter 3. That just shows how that one contributed to the growth in Africa.
