Nigeria earned <strong>$176m<\/strong>, boasting the <strong>highest growth rate<\/strong> among the three at<strong> <\/strong>7.4 per cent CAGR, while Kenya contributed <strong>$153m<\/strong>, growing at 6.9 per cent.\u201d This highlights the rapid expansion of <strong>mobile gaming<\/strong> and esports across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report adds that this surge is fuelled by \u201crising smartphone adoption, improved<strong> internet connectivity<\/strong> and digital payment solutions\u201d, making mobile and online games more accessible. Esports tournaments are flourishing in South Africa, Nigeria\u2019s mobile gaming sector is attracting significant global investment and Kenya\u2019s influencer-driven, mobile-first gaming platforms are gaining <strong>strong traction<\/strong> among younger audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Africa\u2019s digital entertainment tops $1bn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While gaming drives the growth of Africa\u2019s digital entertainment sector, <strong>combined revenues<\/strong> across gaming, live music and OTT (over-the-top streaming) surpassed<strong> $1bn<\/strong> in 2024.
