Developers, designers and artists will unite for a 48-hour game development marathon, highlighting Africa\u2019s rising influence in the global gaming industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Tunisia.- Tunisia <\/strong>has officially announced the dates for the Global Game Jam 2026<\/strong>, scheduled from January 26 to February 1, 2026, putting Africa<\/strong> firmly on the global gaming map<\/strong>. The showcase brings together developers, designers and artists for an intense 48-hour session, where participants collaborate to design and build video games<\/strong> around a shared theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organisers said: “The 2025 edition of our global gaming jam this year in Tunisia is set to be the ultimate gathering <\/strong>for video game enthusiasts of all ages.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exact venues for the 2026 edition are being finalised, with past events hosted at Tunisia\u2019s leading innovation hubs<\/strong>, including Elgazala Technopark in Ariana, Elaco Coworking Space in Soliman and Zarzis Smart Center. Event coordinators are expected to confirm the locations as the event approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration<\/strong> for the Global Game Jam 2026 will open in two stages: venues that want to host the event, called Jam Sites<\/strong>, can register starting November 3, 2025, while individual participants, known as Jammers<\/strong>, can sign up at those locations beginning December 1, 2025, through the official website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the world\u2019s largest game development initiative, the Jam has attracted more than 474,000 participants<\/strong> from 132 countries, producing more than 101,000 games <\/strong>as of 2025. In Tunisia, the event is organised by Makers Factory, S2T Ghazala Technopark and Tunisie Telecom, showcasing the country\u2019s growing role in Africa\u2019s digital and creative industries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2026 edition promises to highlight the continent\u2019s talent<\/strong>, spark collaboration and strengthen Africa\u2019s presence in the global gaming scene.<\/p>\n\n\n
