Nigeria.- Former Super Eagles midfielder and current Chelsea scout for Africa, Seyi Olofinjana, has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the newly launched SuperWinleague Lottery and Football Development Project. The unveiling took place on October 8, 2025 at the MTN office in Falomo, Lagos, bringing together representatives from Dayempire Sports Marketing Management Company Ltd, MTN and Olofinjana himself.

Olofinjana, who played for clubs like Stoke City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Hull City during his career, attributed his involvement to his trust in the project’s goals. He said: “I’m staking my hard-earned reputation by identifying with this brand because I’m convinced that every promise made will be fulfilled.”

Yemisi Ayodeji Daniel, Chief Operating Officer of Dayempire Sports Marketing Management, called the project a key step for the industry. She said: “We are starting a big project today that creates opportunities for footballers, fans and stakeholders to fulfil their dreams.”

The SuperWinleague Lottery offers daily rewards such as cash, jerseys and football boots. Top winners among players could secure trials with European clubs, while fans might get all-expense-paid trips to watch Premier League matches. Organisers describe it as a way to connect gaming with real-world football advancement, potentially opening doors for aspiring athletes and engaging supporters.

Olofinjana’s background makes him a fitting choice. After representing Nigeria in four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and earning a UEFA Pro Licence, he transitioned to scouting and talent management. In July 2024, Chelsea appointed him to oversee African talent, a role that aligns with the project’s development focus.

The initiative could boost Nigeria’s lottery and sports betting market, which has grown with increasing mobile penetration and partnerships. By linking gaming revenue to talent scouting, projects like this one could attract more corporate investment in grassroots football.
