Sierra Leone.- Sierra Leone’s Mercury International, one of only two licensed betting operators in the country, is rapidly gaining momentum, delivering multiple life-changing wins in just over two weeks.

The platform is winning player confidence with its transparency, prompt payouts and high-stakes betting opportunities, and it has also seen repeat winners, highlighting the loyalty and trust it has earned among its users.

In a series of recent wins, Solomon Davies, a worker at Sierra Leone International Airport, was randomly selected from millions of participants to win an all-expenses-paid five-day trip to Nairobi, Kenya, on September 18, as part of Mercury International’s Exclusive Festival Promotion.

Davies, a loyal customer for more than five years, described the win as a “blessing” and praised Mercury for its fairness and transparency, according to SwitSalone.

On October 6, Mohamed Jalloh, a baker from Freetown and a repeat winner on Mercury International, turned a modest NLe10 stake (€0.50) into NLe546,000 (€27,300) by betting on a 31-team football mega list. Jalloh, who previously won NLe200m (€10,000) in May, revealed he could have earned up to NLe1.6bn (€80,000) had he waited to cash out.

Jalloh said: “I cashed out early, that’s why I wasn’t able to win the full amount. No matter the amount you win, your money will be paid instantly.”

Later that same week, Ko Ishmael, a businessman from Kambia District, pocketed NLe185,000 (€9,250) from a Red Box football bet. His ticket qualified for a 100 per cent bonus due to the high number of selections, doubling his prize. “This came as a total surprise. It was a risk bet, but it paid off in a big way and came at a crucial time in my life,” he said.

Mercury International’s Deputy Online Manager, Octavus Jackson, said, “We are paying every single winner for their winnings,” emphasising the company’s commitment to fulfilling its payout obligations.

The company has expanded across more than 20 African countries and now serves over 800,000 players. Known for its transparency, prompt payouts and engaging promotions, the platform has steadily gained player confidence, with many praising it on social media, including Facebook, for its reliability and fairness.

These recent wins between September 18 and October 6, 2025, underscore Mercury International’s growing influence in Sierra Leone’s betting market.
