World Sports Betting signs three-year deal as official Comrades Marathon partner
South Africa’s leading sportsbook partners with the legendary ultramarathon to energise runners and fans through to the centenary race in 2027.
South Africa.- World Sports Betting (WSB) this week announced a high-profile partnership with the renowned Comrades Marathon in South Africa.
The sports betting powerhouse has been named the Official Sports Betting Partner of the race in a three-year deal, which starts with the 98th edition on June 8, 2025. It stretches until the centennial celebration in 2027.
Known as the “Ultimate Human Race,” the Comrades draws thousands of elite and everyday runners from around the globe who take on the gruelling 89km challenge from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.
Now, with WSB in its corner, the event is set to get a turbo-charged injection of energy, technology and crowd-pumping support.
Light up Westville
This new partnership signals not just a brand alignment, but a commitment to investing in the emotional and physical journey of the athletes.
As part of its involvement, WSB will light up Westville with a unique on-route activation, placed strategically 15km from the finish line, just when runners need that last boost.
This support zone promises a festive atmosphere, providing weary participants with the crowd energy and motivation to push through to the end.
On its website, Comrades Marathon Chairperson, Mqondisi Ngcobo, said they were pleased to welcome WSB.
