West Africa’s UEMOA cross-border horse-racing pool records 10 winners
Ten bettors correctly selected the Quinté order, with winning tickets recorded in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire and Mali.
Côte d’Ivoire.- A major cross-border horse-racing betting pool spanning six West African countries has produced 10 Quinté winners, with each collecting CFA21.2935m (US$37,700) after correctly picking the race order.
The winners emerged from the September 3 Quinté held under the Masse Commune of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), with the official PMU result recording 10 winning tickets. Quinté is a horse-racing bet in which players select the first five horses to finish, with a higher payout available when the five are selected in the correct order.
The Masse Commune brings together lottery and Pari Mutuel Urbain operators from Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Niger and Senegal, allowing bets to be pooled across the participating markets.
The September 3 race featured a special CFA100m (US$177,200) jackpot on the Quinté order, with a CFA300 (US$0.53) base stake.

The 10 winners comprised six at the Burkina Faso National Lottery (LONAB), two at the National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire (LONACI) and two at PMU Mali. The two LONACI bettors each received CFA21.2935m, bringing their combined winnings to CFA42.587m (US$75,500).
LONACI said: “One winner, identified as Y.A., staked CFA36,000 (US$64) and won CFA21.2935m, while Z.A. won the same amount with the CFA300 base stake. Both correctly selected the Quinté order.”
The next Masse Commune UEMOA event is scheduled for December 3 2026, with another CFA100m special jackpot on the Quinté order.
