The Gambia welcomes Chopbet as mobile gaming booms across Africa

Chopbet’s launch in Gambia brings its footprint to nine African countries and reflects its growing ambition to become a leading force in the region’s digital gaming space.

The Gambia.- Africa-focused mobile gaming platform Chopbet has officially launched operations in Gambia, marking its third major market entry in West Africa after previous rollouts in Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone.

This strategic expansion continues the company’s mission to deliver localised, mobile-first gaming experiences to underserved digital markets across the continent. Chopbet’s launch in Gambia brings its footprint to nine African countries and reflects its growing ambition to become a leading force in the region’s digital gaming space.

While Gambia’s market is smaller than larger hubs like Nigeria or South Africa, the country’s rapid growth in smartphone penetration and mobile internet usage, particularly among youth, presents a promising environment for digital entertainment platforms. Chopbet’s entry is expected to energise the local gaming economy by introducing new betting products and interactive user experiences.

The success of the platform’s expansion has been closely tied to its strong network of local tech collaborators. Nigerian tech incubator L5 Lab has played a significant role in supporting Chopbet’s development and localisation strategy across multiple countries. These partnerships have enabled the company to build agile platforms responsive to local needs and regulations.

Choplife Gaming, which operates Chopbet, is also known for its broader vision of impact-driven investment. Beyond gaming, the group focuses on empowering local economies by creating jobs, building digital skills and enhancing financial inclusion through gaming-led innovation. This vision is shared by one of its early backers and founder, Nigerian music entrepreneur Mr Eazi, whose influence and investments continue to shape the platform’s expansion model across Africa.

Chopbet’s content offering recently received a boost through a partnership with Booming Games, bringing a portfolio of premium casino games to African users. The collaboration is expected to deepen user engagement and support the platform’s goal of delivering world-class digital experiences in emerging markets.

With the African mobile gaming sector poised for explosive growth, Chopbet is positioning itself as a first-mover in key regional markets, leveraging local partnerships, culturally tuned content and scalable tech to define the next phase of digital entertainment across the continent.
